Yves-Thomas Dorval
President of the Quebec Employers Council

A manager with more than 30 years' experience in public affairs and sustainable development, Yves-Thomas Dorval has been president of the Quebec Employers Council since March 30, 2009. He has previously held management positions with a world leader in the manufacturing sector, notably in Canada and Europe, as well as with an international public relations firm, a research-oriented pharmaceutical company, and a Canadian leader in life and health insurance. He has also worked in the Quebec government, at a commission of inquiry into health and social services, and at Hydro-Québec.

As part of its functions, Mr. Dorval is also a member of:

• the board of directors and executive committee of the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail du Québec (Quebec workplace health and safety commission) and of the Institut de recherché Robert-Sauvé en santé et sécurité du travail (Robert Sauvé research institute on workplace health and safety);
• the board of directors of the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail (commission of labour market partners);
• the Conseil consultatif du travail et de la main-d'oeuvre (CCTM);
• the Quebec government's council of economic partners;
• and the committee of economic stakeholders in the Quebec department of immigration and cultural communities.

Mr. Dorval is a graduate of Laval University in economics, industrial relations and public relations. In addition to having taught several years at Laval University, he has lectured in more than a dozen countries.
